In the early 1980's the Bill Davis Government decided that foot care in Ontario was to be delivered by chiropodists in a model adapted from the UK. But...oops! Most comparable jurisdictions, including the UK, every state of the United States, British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec were evolving and have since opted for a podiatry model of footcare. Ontario is the only jurisdiction in the world to maintain the old UK chiropody model.
