Ever wonder why there are only 2 podiatrists in Ottawa?
The answer is that there has not been a new podiatrist registered in Ontario since July 31, 1993. This means that a podiatrist, even one graduated from the program in podiatric medicine at the University of Quebec at Trois Rivieres may not be registered to practice as a podiatrist in Ontario.
Even a well trained podiatrist with years of experience, practicing in any other jurisdiction, whether it be in the U.S. or any other Canadian province, cannot practice in Ontario.
